Wills Act
Appearance
United Kingdom:
- Wills Act 1837 (7 Will. 4 & 1 Vict. c. 26), an UK Act of Parliament that governed the basic rules related to wills.
- Wills Act 1963 (c. 44), an UK Act of Parliament that repealed the Wills Act 1861 and implements the Hague Convention on the Conflicts of Laws Relating to the Form of Testamentary Dispositions.
- Wills Act 1968 (United Kingdom) (c. 28), an UK Act of Parliament that restricted the operation of section 15 of the Wills Act 1837.
Australia:
- Wills Act 1968 (ACT) (Australian Capital Territory)
- Wills Act 1997 (Vic.)
- Wills Act 1936 (SA)
- Wills Act 1970 (WA)
India and Singapore:
- Wills’ Act, 1838 (Act XXV of 1838), an Act enacted by the Imperial Legislative Council of British India. Act later extended to Singapore, is still current legislation and is the only current legislation that was directly inherited from India. Most likely repealed in India by the Indian Succession Act, 1865 (Act X of 1865).
Malaysia:
- Wills Ordinance, 1959 [F.M. Ordinance 38/1959], later revised as Wills Act 1959 [Act 346].
New Zealand:
- Wills Act 2007 (2007 No. 36). Replaced and repealed the Imperial Wills Act 1837 that extended to New Zealand.
