EONITES, the followers of Eon d'Etoile, a lunatic gentleman of Bretagne, in the twelfth century, who imagined that the was appointed to judge both the quick and dead. He ended his days in a miserable prison; but persecution and death in the most dreadful forms, could not persuade his infatuated disciples to abandon his cause.[1]
