The Acts of Andrew and Matthias, also known by its Latin title of Acta Andreae et Matthiae apud Anthropophagos (lit. "Acts of Andrew and Matthias Among the Man-eaters") is an early Christian story probably written in the 4th or 5th century, and probably later combined with the Acts of Andrew. It is a heroic romance, akin to a contemporary thriller novel, that aims more for entertainment than advocacy of a specific doctrine or theology. Various editions and premodern translations exist in a variety of languages, including Latin, Greek, Syriac, Old Church Slavonic, Coptic, Ethiopic, and Georgian.
