James Hudson Roberts
(1851–1945)

Yale College and Boston University graduate, in 1877-1906 James H. Roberts was a missionary in Chinese Empire, working in Peking (Beijing) and among the Mongols of Kalgan (Zhangjiakou). In 1907 he settled in Connecticut, where he served in several parishes as a minister. He wrote about his travel and missionary experiences. His Yale obituary record says that he also wrote numerous poems and hymns.
