Comprising first-hand accounts of Service experience contributed to “Punch” by Alec Leith Johnston while serving in France and Flanders with 1st Battalion, King’s Shropshire Light Infantry. Johnston was educated at St. Paul’s School & Exeter College, Oxford, enlisted in the Artist’s Rifles in 1914 and was commissioned 1915. He was shot by a sniper near Ypres on 22nd April 1916, aged twenty-six, and is buried in Essex Farm Cemetery. There is also an Appreciation by the Medical Officer of his Battalion which includes a description of his final action and previous events in Flanders. Qq1122qq (talk) 18:32, 18 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
