Search Cartwright

[edit]

@Peteforsyth: Genealogical search shows me a lady by the name of Charlotte Ann Moffett Terwilliger Cartwright with variations of that mix.

Have a look at phab:F16892867 and see if you think that we have it right

  • Charlotte Ann Terwilliger
  • Charlotte Ann Moffett
  • Charlotte Moffett Cartwright

Thanks for looking into this @Billinghurst:. She just caught my attention, so I'm no expert, but I am pretty sure that's the same woman. Phabricator tells me that file is restricted, so I can't view it. But what I know about her comes from:
  • The Wikipedia article on her father, w:en:James Terwilliger, which identifies a "Charlotte" as his child by his first marriage, and (with thin sourcing) stated that two of his children (I'm guessing, whatever source that came from was only considering boys) had attended the Wilcox school
  • The Oregon Historical Quarterly article she authored, in which she refers to herself in the third person as one of the first students at Portland's first school: Oregon Historical Quarterly/Volume 4/Glimpses of Early Days in Oregon
  • A page on the w:en:Lone Fir Cemetery web site (linked from her Wikidata entry).
I haven't gotten any further in my research yet, but am definitely intrigued by what you seem to have found. -Pete (talk) 16:46, 10 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Peteforsyth: oops. I was sure that I had changed those permissions. Fixed now. — billinghurst sDrewth 21:50, 10 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
