Verification of full name
[edit]I have found the following sources describing this individual:
- "GREEN, E. E., O.S.B., Downside Abbey, Bath England" (Catholic Encyclopedia, list of contributors)
- "Everard Green (1878- 1957) / EDWARDI GREEN" (Stratton-on-the-Fosse: St Gregory the Great – Memorial Inscriptions [1])
- "Everard Green" (1911 census at Donwside Abbey, per ibid.)
- "Everard E Green" (1939 Register at Downside Abbey, per ibid.)
- "Everard E Green" (death record, per ibid.)
None of these sources list the name "Grevis". The only record of a "Grevis" Green I can find, is this article which lists "Rev. Dom. Everard Grevis Green, O.S.B." as the brother of the bride (Dorothea Margaret Green, daughter of Charles Martin Green, wife of Hugh Robert Everard Earle Welby). Now, it is possible that this is the same person, but I want to verify this information. —Beleg Tâl (talk) 20:03, 7 August 2024 (UTC)
- According to this, his name is Everard Grevis Joseph Green, which means "Grevis" is correct, but "Edward" apparently is not correct. Hmm. —Beleg Tâl (talk) 20:19, 7 August 2024 (UTC)
- The announcements of his death (e.g.) refer to him as "Edward Green". So I'm thinking that "Edward" was what he went by, even though his name was actually Everard. —Beleg Tâl (talk) 20:32, 7 August 2024 (UTC)
- Here is confirmation that the full name he went by was "Everard Edward Green", so I have moved this page to that name. —Beleg Tâl (talk) 20:57, 7 August 2024 (UTC)
