Copyrighting a work after death

[edit]

I am 100% sure of the identification of Frances M. Sharpless to Frances Maria White Sharpless (everything matches, up to the initials of her siblings she dedicated some poems to). As she didn't have a sibling named Frances M., I'm also inclined to believe that Frances M. White, mentioned on the colophon, is the same person. But the problem is it says, "copyrighted, 1911, by Frances M. White", which would be 7 years after her death in 1904. I don't know... — Alien  3
