Commencement of the Copyright Amendment Act, 1984 (1984)

This presidential proclamation, number 99 of 1984 published on 22 June 1984 in Government Gazette No. 9268, brought the Copyright Amendment Act, 1984 (except for section 7), into force on that date. Section 7 was intended to be brought into proclamation in 1989 by Proclamation No. 108 of 1985, but it was later withdrawn.

Under and by virtue of the powers vested in me by section 15 (1) of the Copyright Amendment Act, 1984 (Act 52 of 1984), I hereby declare that the said Act with the exception of section 7 shall come into operation on publication hereof.

Given under my Hand and the Seal of the Republic of South Africa at Pretoria this Twenty-first day of May, One thousand Nine hundred and Eighty-four.
