Executive Order 1248

It is hereby ordered that the reservation on Hawkins Island, Prince William Sound, Alaska, made for the use of the Navy as a coaling station by Executive Order of March 18, 1908 (No. 771), be, and the same is hereby, transferred to the War Department as a site for coast-defense fortifications. Said reservation is represented on U. S. Coast and Geodetic Chart No. 8520 as being in Prince William Sound, Alaska, and bounded as follows:


On the north and east by Orca Bay and on the south by Orca Inlet, on the west by Canoe Passage, situated in approximate latitude 60° 30′ north, and longitude 146° west.
