The parent of Herman Becker:
The was August's second wife. His first wife died on the ship coming from Germany. There was an outbreak of smallpox on the ship. Therefore the first Mrs. Becker was buried at sea. It took about eleven weeks before they landed in the USA.
August and Caroline are buried at Pilgrims Rest Cemetary, 3110 W. Forest Home, Milwaukee, WI. Both August and Caroline were buried 11/2/1904. Even though Caroline died before him, she was reburied with him. The cemetery said that she was transferred to Lot 20, Block 2, Section 11, where they still remain.

The parents of Pauline Teigs:
They immigrated in 1873. Both were born in Pommeraine, Germany. John and Minnie are also buried at Pilgrims Rest Cemetary in Milwaukee. There is no headstone, but their graves are right behind Bertha Bethke and August Speerbrecher. No obituaries were found in the Milwaukee papers.
Herman W. Becker
Death came to Herman W. Becker at his home near Boltonville on Wednesday, January 7th. He had been in enfeebled health for some time and was seriously ill for about two weeks.
The deceased was born February 18, 1864 in Germany, and as a boy, he came to this country in 1871, his folks located in Milwaukee. There he married Miss Pauline Teigs December 14, 1890. They celebrated their ruby wedding last December. In Milwaukee he was employed as a beef buyer for meat packers. The family in 1914 moved onto a farm near Boltonville. He leaves his widow and eight children, namely Mrs. Elmer Garbish of Parnell, Mrs. Albert Dettmann of Fredonia, Mrs. Arthur Groeschel of Boltonville, August Becker of the town of Scott, Mrs. Wesley Rosenthal on the town of Fredonia, and Carl, George, and Mabelle at home. He also leaves eight grandchildren, one sister Mrs. Emily Korenke, and one brother Fred Becker, both of Milwaukee.
Mr. Becker, during his residence in this country, enjoyed the esteem of all who came in touch with him. He was a conscientious and friendly man, and he was all a good father could be to his family. His memory will be treasured and honor.
The funeral was held Saturday, January 10, with services in St. John's Evangelical Church at Silver Creek, Reverend K. Kuenne conducting the last rites. Burial was made in Union Cemetary at Boltonville.
This death notice was on the front page of the newspaper, the column header was: 'Followed The Call Into The Hereafter souls freed from the chain of earthly joys and sorrows.'
