Corrupted source file?
[edit]Hello, It seems that the DJVU file is corrupted. With Abbyy FineReader 11 Prof Ed, it stops loading the pages at #431. With Document Express DjVu Editor, I get the message "cel_storage.win.cpp(92) : unsigned __int64 __cdecl Celartem::DiskStorageImpl::readBytes(void *,unsigned __int64,unsigned __int64,bool): Error 16: Could not read the bytes specified!" Yann (talk) 16:34, 12 November 2013 (UTC)
- And then I get "chunkmanager\djv_deserializer.cpp(607) : class Celartem::AutoPtr<class Celartem::DjVu::Chunk> __cdecl Celartem::DjVu::deserialize_IFF(class Celartem::Storage *,class Celartem::ResourceBroker *,struct Celartem::DjVu::IFF::Layout *,class Celartem::CredentialProvider *,class Celartem::DjVu::SecurityProviderBroker *,class Celartem::DjVu::IFFErrorRecoveryHandler *,void (__cdecl *)(void *,class Celartem::DjVu::Chunk *),void (__cdecl *)(void *,class Celartem::DjVu::Chunk *),void *): Error 20: No chunk found!" The file is definitely bad. Yann (talk) 16:38, 12 November 2013 (UTC)
- Interesting. I made by converting the section PDFs from University of Wisconsin's site to DJVUs using pdf2djvu, then bundling them together with DJVUlibre djvm. Will try to poke into it more later. Prosody (talk) 21:58, 13 November 2013 (UTC)
- Even if there was no corruption, I don't detect a text-layer being present - and that's strange even for a ~70Mb .Djvu file that is basically b/w (or grayscale) text through-out. Without one, I don't see the point of creating this in the first place. Personally, I would have combined all the .PDFs into one, correcting for ommited/duplicated pages in the process and then upload the finished PDF to IA for conversion to DjVu instead.
And fwiw... I switched to a more customizable incorporation of PDF2DJVU (also GUI mode) found HERE. As always, using the latest libraries, etc. from the latest DjVuLibre bundle has always provided me with the least problematic of results (e.g. no DjVu app or utility seems to be "flaw-free") -- George Orwell III (talk) 00:32, 14 November 2013 (UTC).
- Thanks for the advice. I've reupped the file after following it. Prosody (talk) 21:49, 15 November 2013 (UTC)
