Illustrations
[edit]This particular scan is old and rather poor -- and in black and white. I'm in the process of uploading the scanned images -- in color -- from Project Gutenberg's transcription of the first edition. --Mukkakukaku (talk) 09:41, 19 September 2016 (UTC)
- It is okay to use the colour images in a transcription of a black-and-white scan, since we know the images were in colour in the original. I'll see if I can find any scans of the last few pages. —Beleg Tâl (talk) 14:04, 19 September 2016 (UTC)
- The scan should be sufficient now. —Beleg Tâl (talk) 14:17, 19 September 2016 (UTC)
The following images are still missing from the scan. They're from end matter of the book, and are purely illustrational; they pair with the two pictures on the inside front cover which are present on pages 2 and 3 of the scan. As long as the transcluder tacks these on at the end after the last pages of the scan it should be fine.
The images left marked problematic now have some fancy borders which were not present among the load of images I liberated from PG. I also left a note on the title page in an HTML comment about where to look for a higher quality scan for cutting out images. --Mukkakukaku (talk) 16:04, 19 September 2016 (UTC)
