National anthem of the Philippines. Originally written in Spanish with the title "Filipinas" (1899), the song was set to a march by Julián Felipe which had been adopted as the national anthem in 1898. The words were translated into Tagalog in the 1956 by Felipe Padilla de León and revised in the 1960s; this translation by León officially replaced the original Spanish as the national anthem in 1998.
