Mediation in Certain Divorce Matters Amendment Act, 1991
Act
To amend the Mediation in Certain Divorce Matters Act, 1987, so as to provide for the appointment of a Family Advocate for a specific divorce action or an application or for more than one such action or application; and to provide for matters connected therewith.

Be it enacted by the State President and the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa, as follows:―
Amendment of section 2 of Act 24 of 1987
1. Section 2 of the Mediation in Certain Divorce Matters Act, 1987, is hereby amended by the addition of the following words to subsection (1):
"and the Minister, or any person authorized thereto in writing by him, may appoint one or more persons, whether or not they are officers in the public service, at any such division to act as a Family Advocate or Family Advocates for the duration of a specific divorce action or an application or for more than one such action or application.".
Amendment of section 5 of Act 24 of 1987
2. Section 5 of the Mediation in Certain Divorce Matters Act, 1987, is hereby amended by the substitution for paragraph (c) of subsection (1) of the following paragraph:
Short title
3. This Act shall be called the Mediation in Certain Divorce Matters Amendment Act, 1991.
