Gilbert, William Schwenck, B.A. London Univ. 1857 and a member of Convocation, dramatic author, clerk in privy council 1857-62, late capt. Royal Aberdeenshire Highlanders militia (1868), author of the Bob Ballads, etc., a student of the Inner Temple 11 Oct., 1855 (then aged 19), called to the bar 17 Nov., 1863 (only son of William Gilbert, Esq., of London); born 18 Nov., 1836; married 6 Aug., 1867, Lucy A , youngest dau. of late Capt. T. M. Turner, Bombay engineers.
