Swetenham, Edmund, Q.C., M.A., Brasenose Coll., Oxon, 1848, J.P. co. Denbigh, a member of the North Wales circuit, a student of Lincoln's Inn 27 May, 1844 (then aged 21), called to the bar 14 June, 1848, Q.C. 24 March, 1880, bencher 31 Jan., 1882 (2nd son of Clement Swetenham, Esq., of Somerford Booths, Cheshire); born 15 Nov., 1822; married 1st, 12 April, 1851, Elizabeth Jane, dau. of Wilson Jones, Esq., of Hartsheath, Flints; she died , ; he married 2ndly, 4 June, 1868, Gertrude, 2nd dau. of Ellis Watkin Cunliffe, Esq.; she died 24 June, 1876, leaving issue (see Foster's Baronetage).
