Oh! Christina!

From Wikisource
Oh! Christina! (1909)
by J. J. Bell
Edition: New York, Chicago, Toronto, London, Edinburgh: Fleming H. Revell Company, 1909. Book #4 in the Wee Macgreegor series, but only nominally: it's only in the sequel, Courtin' Christina that "Those popular favorites, Wee MacGreegor and Christina, now appear in conjunction." (The Nation, 11 Sept 1913)

"Oh! Christina!" is quite as amusing as was his "Wee Macgreegor," but with a quaint, bristling, slangy, good-hearted little girl as the exponent of Glasga' humor, instead of a laddie. The book may be read in an hour, and that hour at least will be one of jollity. —The Outlook, 1 May 1909. [Full review(s) may be read on the Discussion page.]

OH! CHRISTINA!

"Miss Purvis gave her twelve-year-old niece a frown of disapproval.
