Whereas the House of People’s Representatives has resolved that it is appropriate to amend the provisions of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand on elections of Members of the House of People’s Representatives;
Therefore, it is commanded, by and with the advice and consent of the House of People’s Representatives, that the following constitution amendment on elections of Members of the House of People’s Representatives be enacted:
Section1.This Constitution shall be called the Constitution Amendment on Elections of Members of the House of People’s Representatives, 2485 Buddhist Era.
Section2.This Constitution shall come into force from the day of its publication in the Royal Gazette onwards.
Section3.The provisions of section 18 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand shall be repealed and replaced by the following provisions:
“Section18.Members of the House of People’s Representatives shall be in office for a term of four years. But if there are important circumstances affecting the internal or external policy, which makes it impossible or inconvenient to hold an election at the time the four-year term ends, an act may be enacted
