And spier'd when I saw Pate;
And ay sinsyne the neighbours round
they jeer me air and late. But, &c.

They parted blyth and weel content,
fae merry may they be;
For a constant swain has Patie prov'd,
and a kind lass was she.

Ye're waited on me, my love,
ye've waited on me;
Ye've waited lang amang the broom,
now I am bound to thee:
Say let them say, or let them do,

For I have vow'd to love you, lad

The LITTLE COUPLE.

There was once a little man,
And he woo'd a little maid,
And he said, Little maid will you wed, wed, wed,
I have little more to say,
Say me either yea or nay,
Little said is soonest mended-ded-ded.

The little maid reply'd;
Little Sir, you've little said,
To induce a little maid to wed, &c.
You may say a little more,
And produce a little ore,
E'er I to the church will be led-led-led.
