BANCO DE POTOSI.

This bank commenced operations in November, 1887, with a paid-up capital of 1,000,000 bolivianos, which it is now arranging to increase to 2,000,000 bolivianos. It, also, is authorized to issue notes in the proportion of 150 per cent of its paid-up capital. The main branch is located at Sucre, while it maintains minor branches in Potosi and Cochabamba, and banking agencies in Oruro, Tupiza, Colquechaca, Santa Cruz, Tarija, Antofagasta, La Paz, Tacna, Salta, Rosario de Santa Fé, and in London and Paris. On June 30, 1890, the bank had in circulation notes to the amount
