��ARCHDEACONS OF MERIONETH.
Tudor ap Adda was present as archdeacon of Merioneth at the election of Matthew de Englefeld to the bi- \ shopric of Bangor in 1328. He died in 1331. "^^ Tudor ap David held it in 1353 and 1357. Griffith Young held it in 1403 and 14.06. Matthew Peirworden, alias Wotton, died possessed
of it in 1410. \ Roger Hungarton, collated 9th July 1410. John Estcourt, collated 8th April 1416. John Trygarn held it in 1422 and 1426. Richard Gely held this dignity on the 22nd of June
1436^8. Richard BuLKLEYheld it in 1483, and resigned it about
1500. Richard Bromfield held it in 1500 and 15 18. William Glynn held this dignity when he was collated
to the archdeaconry of Anglesey, 6th April 1524. William Roberts was collated 9th April 1524, and
died in 1562. Nicholas Robinson was instituted i6th June 1562,
and in 1566 was made bishop of the see. He seems,
however, to have held this archdeaconry in com-
mendam till the year 1573, when he resigned it for
that of Anglesey ; and then he collated his kinsman, Humphrey Robinson, collated 15th Nov. 1574. Edmund Price was collated 5th Nov. 1576; he died in
1623. Robert White was collated in 1623. Ob. 1657. Robert Morgan, 24th July 1660. John Lloyd, 23rd Oct. 1666. William Lloyd, 13th June 1668. Simon Lloyd, 3rd May 1672. Ob. 1676. Nichol Hughes, 22nd April 1676; buried 21st Dec.
1680.
