1039 WuLSius^^. Obiit 1053^9. 1054 Tj^ofwi-ne, abbot of Coventr^^^. Ob, ic66. 1075 Peter, chaplain to William the Firsts was consecrated to 9 Will. I. this see circa 1074 or 1075^'; ^^^^ h removed it to Chester 6- in 1075, where he died, and was buried in 1085. 1086 Robert de Limesey was nominated to this see by the so Will. T. King on Christmas day io856'3, and was consecrated at Canterbury by archbishop Lanfranc in 1086 6^. He removed the see from Chester to Coventry 1 8th April iio2^% and died 30th Aug. 11 17^6, and was buried at Coventry.
The see after the death of Robert de Limesey tvas vacant nearly four years.
From this time the see was commonly denominated COVENTRY AND LICHFIELD.
1 121 Robert Peche^?, chaplain to king Henry the First^^, was conseci-ated at Abingdon 13th March 1120-1^9. He died xi Cal. Sept. (22nd Aug.) 1126^0, and was buried at Coventry.
The see was vacant tivo years.
