��142') William Alnewick, LL.l)., archdeacon of Salisbury, 1 Hen. vi. keeper of the privy seal, was made bishop of Norwich, by papal hull, dated 27th Feb. [425 6 49 j he had the temporalities restored 4th Ma} '. and was con- secrated at Canterbury [8th Aug. following 51 . He was translated to Lincoln 19th Sept. 1436 s2 . 1436 Thomas Beown, bishop of Rochester, was translated to 4Hen. vi. this sec by papal bull, dated 19th Sept. 1436 53 . The temporalities were restored to him 16th Feb. [436-7 He died 6th Dec. 55 1445 56 , and was buried in his own cathedral 5 ?. His will, dated 28th Oct. 1445, was proved 17th Feb. 1445-6 ,s . The license to elect, vice bishop Brown, is dated 1 5th Dec. 144,", John Stanbeby, provost of Eton, was nominated to this sec by the King, but set aside by the Pope, and 1446 WALTEE LE Heet 6 . S.T.B., was made bishop of Nor- 14 Hen. VI. inch by papal bull dated 24th Jan. 1443-6 ; he had the custody of the temporalities 10th Jan. 1 , and the temporalities were restored to him 26th Feb. 1445-6 62 ; he was consecrated at Lambeth the next day 63 , and enthroned 3rd April 64 . 1 [e died on "Whit Sunday 17th May 1472'", and was buried in his own cathe- dral"". His will is dated 14th May 1472. The license to elect, on the death of Walter le Hert, is dated 22nd June" 7 .
