bishopric by king Henry VIII., was elected 31st May 1536; confirmed 8th June, consecrated 11th June[1], and had the temporalities restored 19th July[2]. He resigned 31st Jan. 1549, and the spiritualities were seized into the archbishop's hands 21st Feb.[3] He died 21st Sept. 1550, and was buried in the cathedral of Norwich.

Thomas Thirlby, bishop of Westminster was. on the resignation of bishop Rugg, translated to this see 1st
April 1550, pursuant to statute 1 Edw. VI. c. 1[4],
made his profession of obedience jrd April[5], and was
enthroned on the 20th of the same month. In 1554
he was translated to Ely[6]. The congé d`éire vice bishop Thirlby is dated 4th Sept. 1554[7].

John Hopton, S.T.P., had the royal assent to his election 2nd Oct. 1554[8], the temporalities were restored to him on the 4th[9], and he was consecrated the 28th of the same month. His will is dated 24th Aug. 1558[10].
He died soon after, and was buried in his own cathe-
dral. On 5th June 1559 the conge d'elhv, vice John
Hopton, issued[11].

1 Eliz. Richard Cox, S.T.P., was elected to this see about 22nd June 1559; but before consecration he was removed to Ely[12]. The congé d élire, upon the translation of Richard Cox, is dated 27th March 1560[13].

John Parkehurst, S.T.B.. was elected 13th April 1560, his "signilicavit" is dated 10th June 1560[14]; he was consecrated 1st Sept.[15], and enthroned the 27th of the same month, and had the temporalities restored
