Robert Bankes, A M.. was appointed to this stall bj the charter of th<' new foundation, in 1546; but as soon as queen .Man came to the crown, he was de- prived for being married.
William W w m was substituted in hi- room in 1554 but did not enjoy it much above seven weeks. He died, and was buried in the cathedral.
Richard Smi ra, S.T.P., succeeded in the same year 1554; and in the beginning of queen Elizabeth's reign he was deprived. Ob. vii Id. Jul. f9th July) 15^}, atat. 6j, and was buried at St. Peter's in Douay.
Robert Bankes, restored in 1559, and soon after re- moved to the sixth stall.
John Ki ntnai i., LL.D., archdeacon of Oxford, obtained this canonry in 1.559 Resigned this for the sixth stall in 1591.
Thomas Whyti , S.T.P., was installed in 1 5 9 1 . He died 1st March [633, and was buried in St. Dunstan"s church in Fleet-street, of which he was vicar.
Henry Kino was installed by proxy 3rd March 1623; and in 1641-2 he was made bishop of Chichester.
