He died 1st May 18 1839 Georg] Davts, dean of Chester, was nominated 7 t 1 1 3 Victoria, y\ :{ y 1839, elected on the 20th, and the royal assenl to hi< election wax (riven on the z8th. He was confirmed 14th June and consecrated on the [6th, and the tem- poralities were restored to him 22nd Jane. His lord- ship is tin' present holder of the see.
