Richard de Heghams was archdeacon of Essex in 1206 ami iJi4 . Be was also prebendary of Cad- ington Major.
Theobald de \ \i 1 \. V ^leyns, or de Valoniis, prt - bendary of Codington Major, was archdeacon of Essex in 1218", 23rd June i223 aa , and in [228 ".
Thomas DE FALKEBERG or DE FaLCONBERG was arch- deacon of Essex when Eustace de Fauconberg was bishop, viz. between April [222 and Nov. 1228 84 . Thomas was archdeacon of Essex 1 ,th May 1 .

Stephen of Sandwich or de Sandwico possessed the dignity in 1 252 J " and in 1262 \ He also held the prebends of Mapesbury and Wildland.
Adam of Feversham enjoyed it in 1271 JfJ .
Roger de la Leye or Lee from this dignity was made dean of this church in 1283.
Robert de Wynshale otWinchelsey was sometime archdeacon of Essex, but the time of his admission is not set down. He was promoted to the archiepiscopal see of Canterbury from his preferments in this church in 1 294. Who succeeded him immediately in this arch- deaconry does not appear ; the next that occurs was
