Thomas Wolsey' was elected 19th Feb. 151 2-13, and admitted on the 2 ist of the same month. He resigned 6th April 1 514, shortly after his promotion to the see of Lincoln. John Young, LL.D., master of the Rolls, was admitted 17th May 1514. He died 26th April 1516, and was buried in the Rolls-chapel, London^". Brian Higden was confirmed 21st Juno 15 16, and admitted on the 27th of the same month ^. He died 5th Juno 1539, and was buried in the cathedral^. RicHAKD Layton was confirmed by the archbishop 23rd July 1539, and admitted on the 26th of the same nionth^'. He died in 1544. Nicholas Wottox, LL.D., was admitted 7th Aug. 1544, and installed by proxy 4th Dec. 1544. He was also dean of Canterbury, and died 26th Jan. 1566-7. Matthew Hutton was installed 8th April 1567 <j-, and in 1589 was made bishop of Durham. John TiioRXKBoitorGH, S.T.P., was elected 28th Oct. 1589, and soon after installed. In 1593 he was made bishop of Limerick in Ireland, and afterwards bishop of Bristol, but had leave to hold this dignity in com- mendam, which ho did till his translation to Wor- cester. George Meritox, S.T.P., was admitted 25th March 16176^, Ob. 23rd Dec. 1624. John Scot, S.T.P., was admitted 3rd Feb. 1 624-25^'*, and died in the King's Bench prison in 1644.
