He resigned it on his promotion to the see of St. David's- James Dknton, LL.D., succeeded in 1523: void by the promotion of Rawh'ns. Denton died in Feb. 1 53 2-], l)eing dean of Lichfield, and was buried in the church of Ludlow in Shropshire. Thomas Bedkll succeeded in June 1533, and resigned in Aug. following. William Clyff succeeded in Aug. 1533, and in the next year was made precentor of this church. Richard Lancjrtdge or Langrish, S.T.R., succeeded in 1534, and died in 1547. John Warner, M.D., succeeded in July 1547, and resigned it in 1563 or J564 ; he was also dean of Winchester. Christopher Malton was instituted 3i8tMarch, and installed 3rd April 1,564, and died in March 1569. Ralph Coultox, A.M., succeeded in 1570, died 8th May 1582, petat. 55, and was buried in the cathedral ■K Richard Remyxgtox, A.M., was collated 8th June 1582: void by the death of Coulton ; and about 1588 he was removed to the archdeaconry of the East- Riding. Richard Bird was collated list March 1588-9: void by the resignation of Remyngton. John Philips, A.M., succeeded in April 1601 : void by the resignation of Bird. About 1604 he was made bishop of the Isle of Man, but held this in commendam with it until 1619, when lie was succeeded by Henry Thcrcross, A.^L, collated 2nd Aug. 1619 : void by the promotion of Philips.
