He died 4th Feb. 1422-3, and was buried in St. PauPs cathe- dral, London. His will is dated 25th Jan. 1422-3®^. His Majesty issued his conge d'elire, vice Roger Whelpdale, 5th March 1422-3®^ : nevertheless the Pope appointed 1423 William Bake owe, bishop of Bangor^ who obtained the 1 Hen. VI. temporahties of this see 16th June 1423 ® He died at Rose Castle 4th Sept. 1429, and was buried in St. Katherine's chapel adjoining his own cathedral. His will, dated ist Sept. 1429, was proved loth March following 8^. 1429 Marmaduke Lumley, LL.B., archdeacon of Northum- 8 Hen. YI. herland, succeeded William Barrowe in the see of Car- hslc ; he received the royal assent 5th Dec. 1429", the temporalities 15th April 1430^, and was consecrated the next day^- In 1450 he was translated to Lin- coln ^o. 1450 Nicholas Cloos or Close, archdeacon of Colchester and 31 Hcn.Yi. chancellor of the xinimrsiiy of Cambridge^ was provided to this see by the Pope, and the King restored the temporalities to him J 4th March 1 449-50 ^^ He was translated to Coventry and Lichfield by papal bull 30th Aug. 1452. 1452 William Percy, son of the earl of Northumberland, 31 Hcn. 1. was provided to this see by papal bull, and 24th Oct. 81 Rot.
