He died in 146294. 1462 John ^ly.GscoTY.^arcMeacon of Gloucester^ was appointed aEdw. IV. bishop of Carlisle by papal bull dated 12th July 3462. The custody of the temporalities was granted 95 to him 1 6th May preceding, and plenary restitution of them made to him 20th Oct. following ^6. He made his pro- fession to the archbishop on the 28th of the same monthly, and died intestate 5th Nov. 1463. 1464 Richard Scroope, chancellor of the university of Cam- 4 Edw. IV. 'bridge^ was also promoted to the see of Carlisle by papal bull; the King restored the temporalities to him 5th June 1464^8, and he was consecrated on the 24th of the same month ^9. He died 10th May 14681. His will, dated 9th May 1468, was proved 31st July fol- lowing. 1468 Edward Story, S.T.P., master of Michael house^ was 8 Edw. IV. likewise provided to this see by papal bull : he received the temporahties ist Sept. 1468 2, and was consecrated at York 14th Oct. following-^. He was translated to Chichester in 1478. 1478 Richard Bell*, prior of Durham, like several of his iSEdw.iv. immediate predecessors, was provided to this see by papal bull ; he obtained restitution of the temporali- ties 24th April 1478% and was consecrated on the 26th of the same month ^.
