He died at London in 1768, and was buried at Hagley. 1769 Edmund Law was elected 6th Feb. 1769, confirmed 9 Geo. III. 22nd Feb., and consecrated on the 24th of the same month^4. He died 14th Aug. 1787, setat. 84. 1787 John Douglas was nominated 26th Sept. 1787, elected 2 7Geo.IIl. 1 8th Oct., and received the royal assent 25th Oct. He was confirmed 1 7th Nov., consecrated i8th Nov.4% and the temporalities were restored to him 21st Nov."^^ He was translated to Salisbury in 1791. 1 791 Edward Venables Vernon was nominated i8th Aug. 3iGeo.III- 1 79 1, elected 28th Sept., and received the royal assent loth Oct. He was confirmed 4th Nov., consecrated 6th Nov. *", and the temporalities were restored to him 9th Nov.^^ He was translated to York in 1807. 1 808 Samuel Goodenough, dean of Rochester^ was nominated 48Geo.llI. 20th Jan. 1808, and elected 2nd Feb. ; he received the royal assent 6th Feb. He was confirmed 12th March, consecrated on the 13th, and the temporalities were restored to him 17th March. He died 12th Aug. 1827. 1827 Hugh Percy, bishop of Rochester, was nominated 17th 7 Geo. IV. Sept. 1827, and elected 8th Oct. He received the royal assent loth Oct , and was confirmed loth Nov. ; the temporalities were restored to him 1 7th Nov. His lordship is the present holder of this see. The bishopric is rated for first fruits at 53 1/. 4s. ()d.
