544 OXFORD. Thomas Harpur, S.T.P., was appointed by the arch- bishop's letters dated 21st April 1507, elected 4th May, and admitted 5th June. He died at Bristol nth Nov. 1508. Richard Rawlyns, S.T.P., was elected 19th Dec. 1508, and admitted 17th Feb. following. He was deprived 19th Sept. 152 1. Rowland Phipps, M.A., was elected in 152 1. John Chambyr, M.D., was confirmed 30th Aug. 1525. He resigned the wardenship 24th May 1544. Henry Tyndall, S.T.B., was admitted 23rd June 1544. He died 12th Dec. 1545. Thomas Raynold or Reynolds, S.T.P., was elected by the fellows 21st Dec, approved by the archbishop on the 24th, and admitted on the 30th of the same month 1545. Bishop elect of Hereford, but set aside by queen Elizabeth, and died in prison presently after her accession to the throne. James Gervys, M.A., and LL.B., was admitted 3otli Oct. 1559, and resigned before 14th Jan. 1561. John Man, M.A., was admitted 27th May 1562, and died at London i8th March 1568. Thomas Bickley, S.T.P., was admitted 7th April 1569, and resigned 7th March 1584-5. He became bishop of Chichester. Henry Savile, M.A., was admitted i8th May 1585, and afterwards knighted. He became provost of Eton, died 19th Feb. 1621-22. Nathaniel Brent, LL.D., was nominated by the fel- lows 21st Feb. 162 1, elected by the archbishop i6th March, and admitted the 20th of the same month. He was afterwards knighted. William Harvey, M.D., was nominated by the King's letter 7th April 1645, and elected the next day; but the year following, the city being surrendered to the Parliament, Nathaniel Brent was restored in 1646. He resigned 7th April 1651.
