LINCOLN COLLEGE Was founded by Richard Flemmyng, bishop of Lincoln, in 142817. Thomas Rotheram, alias Scot, bishop of Lincoln, (after- wards archbishop of York,) is reckoned a second founder : he, besides finishing the buildings and aug- menting the numbers of fellows, &c., gave them a body of statutes nth Feb. 1479. RECTORS. William Chamberleyn was appointed the first, about 1428. John Beke, S.T.B., succeeded about 1435.
