LINCOLN COLLEGE. 557 George Strangwayes, S.T.B., was elected 31st Jan. 1479. ^^ ^^^'^ "^ 1488, and was buried in St. Mi- chaePs church, Oxford. William Bethome succeeded in I488_, and died in the beginning of 1493. Thomas Baxke, S.T.P., succeeded in 1493. He died loth Aug. 1503, and was buried in All Saints church- yard, Oxford. Thomas Drax, S.T.B., (afterwards S.T.P.,) was elected 22nd Aug. 1503, and resigned 20th Feb. 1517—18. John Cottysford, S.T.B., (afterwards S.T.P.,) was elected 2nd March 1517—18. He resigned 7th Jan. Hugh Weston, M.A., was elected 8th Jan. 1537—8. He resigned in 1555. He was Margaret professor in 1540, and dean of Windsor in 1556. C-hristopher Hargreve, M. a., was elected 24th Aug. 1555. He died J5th Oct. 1558, and was buried in the church of All Saints, Oxon. Henry Heronshaw, ahas Henshaw, S.T.B.^ fellotc first of this college, and afterwards of Magdalen, was elected rector 24th Oct. 1558. He resigned in 1560. Francis Babington, S.T.P., master of Balliol college^ was elected to this rectorship in Aug. 1560. He was also Margaret professor. He resigned in ^^^^. John Bridgewater, M.A., late of Brasenose college^ archdeacon of Rochester ^ was elected 14th April 1563. Deprived 20th July 1574. John Tatham, fellow of Merton college, succeeded the latter end of July 1574. He was buried in All Saints church 30th Nov. 1576. John Underhill, ^.T.V,, fellow of Neiv college, suc- ceeded 22nd June 1577. Bishop of Oxford in 1589. Ilu-HARD KiLUY was clcctcd loth Dec. 1590. He was Hebrew professor in 16 10. He was buried in All SaintH church 7th or i7th Nov. 1620. Paul Hood, S.T.H., was elected 20th Nov. 1620. He
