AVilliam Cavendish was appointed master by the bi- shop of Ely nth April 1397. He quitted it in the same year. John Bottelsham succeeded 27th Aug. 1397, and in 1400 was made bishop of Eochestor. Thomas de Castro Bernardi (Bernard's Castle) was elected 7th June 1400, and confirmed the 14th of the same month. John de Hol broke, S.T.P., was master here in 1425 and 1433. ^^ ^^^s chancellor of the university in 1428 and 1429. Thomas Lane, appointed in 1450. Ob. 1498. His will, dated 28th May 1498, was proved in the follow- ing November. John Wark worth, S.T.B., succeeded 6th Nov. 1473 and died in 1500. Thomas Denham, M.D., was admitted 19th Nov. 1500. Henry Horneby, S.T.P., appointed in 1516. William Burgoyne, S.T.P., was admitted 19th Feb. 1517-18. John Edmunds, S.T.P., succeeded in the latter end of the year 1522. Ralph Aynsworth, M.A., was admitted in Nov. 1544, and deprived in 1553. Andrew Perne-^-, S.T.P., was admitted 7th Fob. 1553-4- Ralph Some, S/IM*., being nominated by the college, was confirmed by the archbishop of Canterbury iith May 15S9. John Richardson, S.T.P., was ajipointed by the bishop of Ely 30th Jan. 1608-9 ; and in 1615 he was trans- lated to the mastership of Trinity college. 3- He founded two bye fellowships in 1589.
