Darling, Charles Kimball, soldier, lawyer, public official, was born June 28, 1864, in Corinth, Vt. He was educated at the academy at Barre, Vt.; attended Dartmouth college and graduated from the Boston university law school. In 1897-1900 he was instructor of criminal law at the Boston university law school. In 1893 he was major in the sixth regiment Massachusetts United States volunteers; in 1887-1905 was adjutant, major and colonel in the sixth regiment Massachusetts volunteer militia; and is now a retired brigadier-general of the Massachusetts volunteer militia. In 1897-98 he was commander-in-chief of the sons of veterans United States of America; and in 1905-08 was a member of the board of visitors of the Boston university law school. In 1899-1908 he was United States marshal for Massachusetts; and since 1S08 has been clerk of the United States circuit court of appeals for the first district; and resides in Concord.
