He was the author of a Sermon on the Death of Cotton Mather; and two discourses entitled The Strait Gate and the Narrow Way Infinitely Preferable to the Wide Gate and the Broad Way. He died May 22, 1748, in, Boston, Mass. Geer, George Jarvis, clergyman, author, was born Feb. 24, 1821, in Waterbury, Conn. He was for many years rector of St. Timothy's church of New York City. He was the author of The Conversion of St. Paul, a series of Discourses. He died March 16, 1885, in

Geer, Theodore Thurston, farmer, legislator, governor, was born March 12, 1851, at Waldo Hills, Ore. He was a member of the Oregon state legislature in 1880, 1889, 1891 and 1896. He was the tenth governor of Oregon in 1899-1903. Geer, Walter, lawyer, manufacturer, was born Aug. 19, 1857, in WiUiamstown, Mass. In 1886 he Avas elected president of the New York architectural terra cotta company. Geer, William Chauncey, educator, chemist, scientist, was born June 17, 1876, in Ogdens' burg, N.Y.
