Among the oldest Pieces of Poetry in the World were the solemn Hymns, sung at the high Festivals in the ancient Temples. Delos was one of the earliest religious Settlements in Greece: The Hymns sung there were not composed by any native Greek, but by one Olsn& Foreigner, p. p2 (m) ' This Olen, says Herodotus, coming from Ly93. (o)
