ITEM it is ordained and afTented, That the Sta- tutes and Ordinances made in the laft Parliament holden at Canterbury, as well of Servants, Labourers, Artificers, and Victuallers, as of -all other Things, faving the Exception of the next Article before touching Juftices of Peace, and alfo all other Statutes and Ordinances made before this Time, and not re- pealed, fhall be firmly kept, and duly executed. (2) But forafmuch as a Man cannot put the Price of Corn and other Victuals in certain, it is accorded and afTented, That the Juftices of Peace in every County, in two of their Seflions to be holden betwixt the Feaft of Eafter and St. Michael, fhall make Procla- mation by their Difcretion according to the Dearth of Victuals, how much every Mafon, Carpenter, Tiler, and other Craftfmen, Workmen, and other Labourers by the Day, as well in Harveft as in other Times of the Year, after their Degree, fhall take by the Day with Meat and Drink, or without Meat and Drink, between the two * SeJJions beforefaid, not- withftanding the Statutes thereof heretofore made, raid that every Man obey to fuch Proclamations from time to time as a Thing done by Statute. (3) And in the PJght of Victuallers it is accorded, That they fhall have reafonable Gains, according to the Difcre- tion and Limitation of the faid Juftices, and no more, upon pain to be grievoufly punlfhed according to the Difcretion of the faid Juftices, where no Pain is li- mited in certain before this Time. (4) And that Sheriffs, Stewards of Lords of Franchises, Mayors, and Bailiffs, and all other that have Affife of Bread and Ale to keep, and the Correction of the fame, fhall take no Amerciament or Fine for any Default touching the % Affife, for the which a Man or Wo- man by the Law ought to have bodily Punifhment, according as it is another Time ordained by Statute ; but they fhall judge them to the fame b idily Punifh- ment as the Offence requireth, and fhall do Execu- tion thereof.
