VI. Be it further enafled. That the faid Lieutenants and Deputies or any three or more of thenr, in their feveral Counties and Places refpedtively, (hall require and direft all Perfons fo charged as aforefaid, with Horfe, Horfemen and Arms, to allow two Shillings by the Day to the Troopers that ferve with their Horfe and Arms, for the Maintenance of the Man and Horfe, and twelve Pence a Day for the Foot- Soldiers, (if they ferve not in their own Perfons) for fo many Days as they fliall be fent from their Dwel- lings and Callings, by Occafion of Mufter or Exercife. VII. And for furnifliing Ammunition and other neceflaries, the faid refpecflive Lieutenants and Depu- ties or any three or more of them, fliall have Power to lay fitting Rates upon the refpedlive Counties and Places, not exceeding in the Whole in any one Year the Proportion of a fourth Part of one Month's Af- feffment in each County, after the Rate of feventy thoufand Pounds by the Month, now or late charged by an A&, intituled, Jn A^for the Raifing of feventy thoufand Pounds for the further Supply of his Majefyy (2) Which Monies are to be afleffed, collected and paid by fuch Perfons and according to fuch Diredtions as fhall be given from Time to Time by the faid refpeftive Lieutenants and Deputies or any three or more of them, under the like Penalties, and by the like Ways and Means, as are prefcribed in the faid Adt for the feventy thoufand Pounds by the Month; (3) and in Cafe of Invafions, Infurredions or Rebellions, whereby Occafion fhall be to draw out fuch Soldiers into adlual Service, the Perfons fo charged as afore- faid, fhall provide each their Soldier reff>e<Etively with Pay in Hand, not exceeding one Month's Pay, as fhall be in that Behalf directed by the faid refpedive Lieutenants, and in their Abfence as aforefaid, or otherwife by their Diredlions by their Deputies or any two or more of them : (4) For Repayment of which faid Monies, and for Satisfadion of the Officers for their Pay during fuch Time, not exceeding one Month as aforefaid, as they fhall be with their Soldiers in fuch faid actual Service, It is hereby de- clared. That Provifion fhall be made for the fame by his Majefty, his Heirs and Succeflbrs, out of his or their publick Treafury or Revenue : (5) Neverthelefs, it is hereby further provided and enadted. That in Cafe a Month's Pay fhall be provided and advanced as aforefaid. That no Perfon who fhall have advanced his Proportion thereof, fhall be charged with any other like Month's Payment, until he or they fhall have been re-imburfed the faid Month's Pay, and fo from Time to Time the Month's Pay by him or them laft be- fore provided and advanced as aforefaid. VIII. And be it enaded. That the faid Lieutenants and their Deputies, or the Chi^f Officers upon the Place in the refpedive Counties and Places as aforefaid, may charge Carts, Wagons, Wains and Horfes for the carrying of Powder, Match, Bullet and other Materials, allowing fix Pence a Mile outward only, to every fuch Cart, Wagon and Wain with five Horfes or fix Oxen, ancffo proportionably ; (2) and for every Horfe employed out of Wagon or Cart for the Ufes aforefaid one Peny, fo taken upon the Marchine of any Regiment, Company or Troop, upon Occafion of Invafion, Infurredion or Rebellion; (3) and that the faid Lieutenants or Deputies, or the Chief Officers upon the Place, fhall and may imprifon Mu- tineers and fuch Soldiers as do not their Duties as Soldiers at the Day of their Muflers and Training ; and fhall and may inflid for Punifhment for every fuch Offence, any pecuniary Muld not exceeding five Shil- lings, or the Penalty of Imprifonment without Bail or Mainprife, not exceeding twenty Days. fX. And be it further enaded. If any Perfon or Perfons fo to be affefTed or charged by the faid Lieute- nants and Deputies, or any three or more of them refpedively, fhall refufe or negled by a reafonable Time to be appointed, to provide and furnifh fuch fufficient Horfe and Horfeman, Horfes and Horfemen, Arms and other Furniture, or to pay fuch Sum or Sums of Money towards the Providing and Furnifhing as aforefaid ; That then it fliall and may be lawful to and for the refpedive Lieutenants and Deputies or any three or more of them, for every fuch Offence, from Time to Time to inflid a Penalty upon fuch Perfons not exceeding twenty Pounds. (2) And alio by Warrant under their or any three or more of their Hands and Seals, to levy fuch Sum or Sums of Money, or the Value of fuch Horfe or Horfes, Arms and Furniture, and fuch Penalty inflided, by Diftrefs and Sale of the Goods of the Perfon or Perfons fo neg- leding or refufing, rendring the Overplus to the Party fo diftrained, all necefTary Charge in levyingthere- of being firft deduded; (3) and it is declared. That the fame be employed to the fame Ufes in Default whereof the fame was impofed. X. And be it further enaded. That if any Perfon or Perfons fo to be armed, arrayed and weaponed, fhall detain or imbezil his Horfe, Arms or Furniture wherewith he ought to ferve or is intrufted ; that it fhall and may be lawful to and for the faid refpedive Lieutenants, and in their Abfence as aforefaid, or otherwife by their Diredions, to and for tlieir Deputies, or any two or more of them, to imprifon fuch Perfon and Perfons till he or they have made Satisfadion for the Horfe, Arms, or other Furniture fo by him detained or imbezilled ; (2) and alfo, That if any Perfon fo tobe armed, horfed or weaponed as afore-' faid, fhall not appearand ferve, completely furniflied with Horfe and Arms, and other Furniture where- with he is intrufied, at the Beat of Drum, Sound of Trumpet, or other Summons ; that then, and fo' often, it (hall and may be lawful to and for the faid refpedive Lieutenants, and in their Abfence as afore-' faid, or otherwife by their Diredions, to and for their Deputies, or any two or more of them, if the Default be in the Perfon or Perfons fo intrufted, to imprifon fuch Perfon or Perfons for the Space of five Days, with-' out Bail or Mainprize, or to inflid the Penalty, if a Horfeman, not exceeding twenty Shillings, and if a' Footman, not exceeding tenShillings, to be paid down without Delay or Forbearance : (3) And if any Per- fon or Perfons fo affeiTed or charged as aforefaid, fhall refufe or negled to fend in, or deliver his Horfe, Arms, or other Furniture, upon fuch Summons, or other Notice as aforefaid ; that then, and fo often, it fhall and' may be lawful to and for the faid refpedive Lieutenants and their Deputies, or any three or more of them, to.iaflid a Penalty not exceeding five Pounds, to be levied by Diftrefs and Sale of the Goods of fuch Perfon or i
