I. c. 13.' ' as they fliould have paid if fuch Letters Patents had never to them been made 5 (2) and whereas by one ' other Statute made in the twelfth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord the King that now is, vs-. 14 Car. 2. c. 4. ' tituled, A Subftdy granted to the King of Tonnage and Poundage,, and other Sums of Money payable up07i Mer^' §■ ^' ' chandizes Exported and Imported, and afterwards confirmed by an A£l of Parliament made in the thirteenth ijCar. 2. ' Year of his faid Majefty's Pvcign, it is enacted. That every Merchant, TSTatural-born Subjeft, Dtnizen' Stat, J, c. 7. ' and Alien, ftiall pay the Sum of twelve Pence for all manner of Goods or Merchandize to be carried out; 'of this Realm or to be brought into the fame by way of Merchandize, amounting to the Value of tu-enty ' Shillings according to the Book of Rates, whereto Reference is made by the faid Statute ; (3); and that
- every Merchant-Alien ftiall pay the Sum of twelve Pence over and above the twelve Pence aforefaid, for
' all Manner of the Native Commodities of this Realm, or Manufaflures wrought of any fuch Native (J'om-* ' modities, of the Value of twenty Shillings, to be, carried out of this Realm by fuch Merchants-x'^liens ;.' ?- Car. 2. c. 4. c ^^^ J^,^J whereas by another Claufe of the faid Statute of the twelfth Year of his Majefty's Reign that- ^'^' ' now is, it is enacSed, That all Strangers and Aliens fhall pay fix Shillings and eight Pence per Piece for ' every Short Cloth to be carried out of this Realm by fuch Strangers or Aliens ; f ;) and whereas by the- ' twelfth Article of Rules, Orders, Direftions and Allov/ances annexed to the faid Book of Rates, it is re-' ' cited, ordered and direfted. That Merchant-Strangers fljould pay double Petty-Cufl-om for Lead, Tin,; ' Woollen Cloth, and for Native Manufaftures of Wool or Part of Wool, and for all other Goods, as well ' inwards as outwards, rated to pay the Subfidy of Poundage, three Pence in the Pound, and other Duties ' payable by Charta Mercatoria, befides the Subfidy ;' (6) Be it ena6ted by the King's moft Excellent Ma"- jefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and the Commons, in this- Part of the faid prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame. That fo much and fuch Claufes only of Statutes of the faid Statutes of the eleventh Year of Henry the Seventh, and of the twelfth Year of our Sovereign Lord II H. 7. c. 14. the King that now is, and of the faid twelfth Article of Rules, Orders, Direiftions and Allowances, and of izCar. 2. c. 4.
