' of the City of London, Fof the time being,, or tlie major Part of the faid Malter and Wardens of every the ^^'r'"^'^^ " ' fa'id fcveral Mylleries, under the Penalty therein mentioned, Hiould four Times in the Year at leaft (that ™* "' '" ^ ' is to fay) once every Qi,iarter of the Ye.r, or oftner if Need Ihouid require, fearcli, and view all Boots, ' Shoes, Buflcins, and other Waes and 'J'hings whatfoevcr made of tanned Leather, in all and every ' Houfe and Houfes, Place and Places, privileged or not privileged, as well within the City of London and ' Suburbs thereof, as in every other Place within three Miles of the fame City, where any Shoemaker, ' Sadler, Girdler, Currier, or other Artificer, ufmg cutting, working, or drefTing of Leather, whether the ' fame Boots and Shoes, Wares, Stuff, Or other Thihgs, were made of tanned Leather, and were wrought ' according to the Purport, Effeft, and true Meaning of the fiiid Statute, or not : ' II. And wheixas fome Doubts have been made, whether tanned Leather, when and after it hath been ' fully drefled and curried by the Currier, be a Ware within the faid Statute, ajid fevcral Suits of Law have ' been carried on againft the Mafter and Wardens of the Company of Curriers, to their great Charge and ' Vexation, and tending to the utter avoiding the good Provision made in the faid Statute for the due and ' lawful carrying and dreffing of Leather, and the Search and Vi-ew thereof, to be made as by the faid ' StatCite is required :' For the removing therefore of all Doubts, and that Search and View may be duly made according to the faid Statute : III.
