LXXVI. And the faid Commons of England in Parliament aflcmbled, for the Ends and Purpofes in this foever, KSc exprefled, have alio given and granted unto His Majefty, His Heirs and Succeflbrs, the further Rates and Duties herein after mentioned ; and it is hereby further enafted by the Authority aforefaid. That for An additional and upon all Goods, Wares, and Merchandizes whatfoever, of the Growth, Produdt, or Manufacture of ""tyf s'- I'^r the Eajl Indies, or any other Countries or Places within the Limits aforefaid, to wit, beyond the faid Cape ^'I'i'T-^'"' '" to the Streights oi Magellan, v/hich from and after the faid nine and twentieth Day of September one thou- imp„!"cd fcc"^ fand fix hundred ninety-eight, at any Time or Times fliall be imported or brought into the Kingdom of' Contin'ied by England, Dominion of Wales, or Town of Berwick upon Tweed, by any Corporation, Perfon or Perfons, ioAnna.-,c.aS.' trading within the Limits aforefaid, by virtue or in purfuance of this A£t, there fliall be yielded and paid to His Majefty, His Heirs and Succeflbrs (over and- above all other Duties payable for the fame) a Duty after the Rate of five Pounds for every one hundred Pounds of the true and real Value of the faid Goods ; to be paid over from time to time to the faid General Society of Subfcribers, and their Succeflbrs, or iuch To bspaid over Treafurer or Treafurers, as fuch Society fhall appoint to receive the fame, unlefs a Company, upon the '=> '.'1= General Deflre of the Subfcribers or any of them, fliall be erefted in jiurfuance of this Aft, to trade with a Joint ^""'^^J^ ^ ^°' Stock, as aforefaid ; and from and after the erefting or fettling of fuch Company, then the faid Duty of five AmLffadofs &c Pounds per Centum fliall be paid over to fuch Company, and their Succeflbrs, or to their Treafurer, to tlie ' end that the faid General Society, and the faid Company refpeftively, may out of the Produce of the faid Duty of five Pounds ^^r Centum maintain fuch AmbafTadors, or other Minifters, as His Majefty, His Heirs or SucceflTors (at the Nomination of the Truftees, Direftors, or R'lanagers, of or for the General Society aforefaid, or of fuch Company fo to be impowered to trade with a Joint Stock, as aforefaid) fhall be pleafed to fend to any Emperor, Prince, or State within the Parts aforefaid, and defray any other extraordinary or neceflary Expences, in carrying on the .faid Trade ; and if at any Time or Times there be an Overplus Overplus, if any, of the Produce of the faid Duty, to dilpofe the fame, from time to time, to and for the Benefit of all the how to bedil-' Members of the faid General Society, until a Company to trade with a Joint Stock fliall be erefted, as P"'^ aforefaid ; and after fuch Company fliall be erefted, then to and for the Benefit of all the Members tiiereof, according to their rcipeftive Shares or Literefts in the Principal or Capital Stock of the fame. LXXVIL And for the better raifing, levying, and fecuring the faid Duty, after the Rate of five Pounds Security tn be in the Plundred, it is hereby further enafted. LXXVIII. And it is hereby further enafted.
