Per'on^ may. qdvjnce 1,018,8671. iS s. 6 d. for purchafing An- nuities for 99 Years. are hereby required and enjoined to bring and pay the fame accordingly) into the Receipt of the Exche- quer diftinftly and feparately from all otlier Monies whatfoever, that are or fhall be payable by them into the faid Receipt, the faid weekly Sun) or Payment of three thoufand ftven hundred Pounds, to be brought and paid into the faid Receipt upon JFednefday in every Weeic, if it be not an Holiday, and if it be, then upon the next Day that is not an Holiday, for thePurpofes in this Aft exprefled ; and in cafa in any Week or Weeks the whole Receipt of the Monies of the faid feveral Branches or Duties ofExcife hereby charg- ed as aforefaid, fhall not be fufficient to anfwer the weekly Payment or Payments hereby direclcd for fuch particular Week or Weeks, that then and fo often the Deficiency and Deficiencies thereof fliall be fup- plied and made good out of the whole Receipt of the faid particular Branches ofExcife, and every or any of them, arifing in the next Week or Weeks, when the Receipt or Receipts fhall be fufHcient to boar the fame. IV. And it is hereby further ena6led by the Authority aforefaid. That the Commiilioners of Excife for the Time being, at their Head Office in London, fhall from Time to Time feparate and keep apart all the Monies arifing by the faid particular Branches of Excife herein before mentioned, as the fame fhall from Time to Time arife or be paid into the faid Office ofExcife by the Receivers or ColleiTirors of the fame, or by any other Perfon or Perfons whatfoever, and ihall out of the Monies fo arifing make the faid weekly- Payments into the Exchequer, for the Ufes in this Ail mentioned. V. And be it further enadted. That if the faid Commiffioners of Excife for the Time being fhall re- fufe or negleiSt to pay or caufe to be paid into the Exchequer the faid weekly Sums hereby appointed, or fhall divert or mifapply any Part of the Monies which fliould make good the fame, then they and every of t'lem fo offending fliall forfeit their feveral Offices and Places, and be incapable to ferve the Queen, her Heirs or Succelfors, in any Office or Place of Truft or Profit, and fliall bs liable for every fuch Oirence to pay double the Value of the Money fo diverted or iidfapplied, to any Perfon or Perfons who will in- form Or fue for the fame, by Aftion of Debt, or of the Cafe, Bill, Stiit or Information, in any of her Majefiry's Courts of Record at /;?^/?m/k/?«S wherein no Effoin, Proteftion, Wager of Law, or more than one Imparlance fhall be granted or allowed. VI. And be it ena£led, That the Comptroller of the Excife for the Time being, fhall keep a perfeft. and diftinft Account, in a Book or Books fairly written, of all the Monies which fhall arife by the faid particular Branches ofExcife, out of which the faid weekly Payments are to be made as aforefaid, as the fame fliall from Time to Time arife or be raifed (to which Books all Perfons concerned fhall at all rea- fonable Times have free Accefs, without Fee or Charge) ; and fuch Comptoller in Default thereof fhall forfeit his Office or Place, and be rendred incapable as aforefaid, and fhall alfo forfeit and lofe the Sum of two hundred Pounds for every fuch Default, to any Perfon or Perfons who will inform or fue for the fame as is before mentioned. VII. And be it further enafted by the Authority aforefaid, That there fhall be provided and kept in- the Office of the Auditor of the Receipt of the Exchequer one Book, in which all the Monies which ought to be paid in weekly as aforefaid, for or upon Account of the faid weekly Sums out of the faid particular Branches ofExcife, and which fhall be brought to the faid Receipt, fhall be entred apart and diftinfl: from all other Monies paid into the faid Receipt on any other Account whatfoever, VIII. And it is hereby further enaiSted, That out of the Money of the faid Hereditary Duties ofEx- cife, arifing in or by fuch weekly Payments at the Exchequer as aforefaid, the faid annual Sums, after the Rate of three Vounis per Centum per Annum, prefcribed by the faid Aft, made in the Parliament holden- in the twelfth Year of the Reign of his faid late Majefly King William the Third, fhall be fatisfied and- paid according to the Direflions therein contained, and fubjccl to the Power of Redemption therein, mentioned ; and alfo out of all the Monies of the faid feveral Branches ofExcife, arifing in or by the faid v/eekly Payments, the feveral Annuities to be purchafed in purfuance of this Aft, fhall be paid and fatif- fied, from and after the faid five and twentieth Day o^ December in the Year of our Lord one thoufand fe-, ven hundred and five, for and during the then Refidue and Remainder of the feveral and refpeftive Terms. andEftates, which by Virtue of this Aft fliall be purchafed of and in fuch Annuities refpeftively ; and that all the Reft and Refidue of the Monies arifing by the faid weekly Payments, and which at the Eiid of every Year, reckoning the firfl Year to begin from the faid five and twentieth Day oi December in ths Year of our Lord one thoufand feven hundred and five, fhall remain, after fatisfying or referving fuffici- ent to fatisfy all the Payments which fhall be then incurred or grown due, as well for and upon the faid annual Sums' after the Rate of three Pounds per Centum per Anmmi, as alfo for and upon all the faid An- nuities to be purchafed upon this Aft, fhall be applied and difpofed of to and for the publickUfe and Ser- vjcCt and not otherwife. IX. And for the raifing any Sum or or Sums of Money, not exceeding one Million eighteen thoufand' eight hu.idred fixty and feven Pounds eighteen Shilings and Sixpence ; that is to fay, nine hundred thou- fand Pounds thereof for carrying on the prefent War, and other her Maj'efiry's Occafions, and one hun- dred and eighteen thoufand eight hundred fixty and feven Pounds eighteen Siiillings and Sixpence, Refi* due thereof, for making good the quarterly Payments herein after mentioned, to incur and grow due on-, and before the faid five and tv/cntieth Day of Dece?nher one thoufand feven hundred and five ; it is hereby further enafted by the Authority aforefaid, That it fhall and may be lawful to and for any Perfon or Peifons, Natives or Foreigners to contribute, advance and pay into the Receipt of her Ma- jeity's Exchequer, for her Majelly's Ufe, at or before the refpeftive Days and Times by this Aft limited in that Behalf, any Sum or Sums of Money for or tov/ards the faid Sum of one million eighteen thou- fand eight hundred fixty and feven Pounds eighteen Shillings and fix Pence, for purchafing any Annuity or Annuities, to be fatisfied as in this Aft.is mentianed. for and during the full Term of ninety-nine Years- I
