An Act for better paving and cleanfing the Streets in the City and Liberty of JVeflminfiler, and other Places within the Limits of the weekly Bills of Mortality, in the County of Middlefex. On /{June next, and on 26 Dec. yearly, Vefrrymen in every Parifh to make Lifts of Inhabitants, to be re- turned to two or more Juftices at a Special Seffions : Who are to appoint Surveyors. Surveyors to make a Return of Pavements out of Repair to the Juftices, to be prefented to the Quarter-Seffions. They may give Notice in the Church, of Defaults. Such Defaults not amended in 20 Days, Surveyors may amend them, and be reimburfed. Surveyors may pave before empty Houfes : To be levied on the next Tenant, and de- ducted out of his Rent. On Irregularity of Water-pipes or bad Pavement, Inhabitants to amend them, and be reimburfed by the Proprietors of the Water-works. Juftices may make Prefentments on their own View. After 4 June 17Z9, the Rakers to lay in Heaps all the Dirt, and carry it away, on Forfeiture of 40 s. Not to extend to the Royal Palaces, or St. James's Square, &c, Juftices may allow Surveyors 8/. per Ann. Continuance of this Act for three Years. EXP. CAP. XII. An Act for the more effectual repairing the Highways between Sheppards Shord and Horjley Upright Gate, leading down Bagdown Hill in the County of Wilts, and other ruinous Parts of the Highways thereunto adjacent. An Act for repairing the feveral Roads therein mentioned, leading into the Town of Leominfter in the County of Hereford. PR. An Act for making more effectual the Acts paffed for repairing the Roads from the Stones End in Shoreditch in the County of Middlefex, to the furthermoft Part of the Northern Road in the Parifh of Enfield in the fame County, next to the Parifn of Chefnwit in the County of Hertford ; and for amending the Road from the Watch-houfe in Edmunton to the Market-Place in Enfield. Company of Tilers and Bricklayers diverted of the Powers given by the forefaid Act, Searchers to be ap- pointed by the Quarter -Seffions, 'and their Powers. Penalty for making Bricks or Tiles contrary to this or the former Act. Profecutions to be commenced in one Year. None to be convicted twice for one Offence.
