W PIE RE AS by an A£t of Parliament made and pafTed in the eighth Year of the Reign of hisS Geo, 2. e. 19, prefent Majefty, mtituled, An ASl for the Application of the Rents and Profits of tks Ejratcs for- feited by the Attainders of James late Earl of Derwentwater, and Charles Radclitle, the"Commiffioners or Governors of the R.oyal Hofpitai for Seamen at Greenwich were required to contract and agree with able and fufHcienr Tradefixien, Artificers, or other Perfons, for finifliing and compleating the faid Royal Hofpitai in :i Workman-like Manner, on the eafieft and moft reafonable Terms, according to the Plan laid before the Floufe of Commons in that Seffion of Parliament : And whereas one Parcel ot^Land on the Weft_ Side of the faid Hofpitai, whereon a fmall Houfe lately ftood, in the C)ccupation of Benjamin Hopkins, Barber, and comimonly known by the Name of Carr's Houfe, containing at the SouJi End eleven Feet fix Inches, at the North End ten Feet feven Inches, on the Eafl: Side fifteen Feet five Inches, and on the Weft Side fourteen Feet eleven Inches, be the fame more or lefs ; and one other Parcel of Land on the Eaft Side of the faid Hofpitai, whereon feveral Houfes formerly ftood, belonging to the 'Fruilees of Alorden College, and now in the Poffeffion of the faid CommifTioners or Governors of the faid Hoipital, are neceflary to be purchafed, in order to finiflj the faid Royal Hofpitai according to the faid Plan; which by reafon of Infancy, and other Difabilities, the CommifTioners or Governors of the faid Royal Kofpital have not been able to purchafe :' May it therefore pleafe your moft Excellent Majefty, that it may be enacted ; and Be it ena£ted by the King's moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament afTembled, and by the Au- thority of the fame.
