' the Firft, the faid Duties on Cards and Dice were among other Rates and Duties made perpetual, and . ' made Part of the Fund commonly called The General Fund : And whereas the Intereft of the Sum of ' fifteen hundred thoufand Pounds, Part of the Sum of two Millions advanced on the Credit of an Adl ' made in this Seffion of Parliament, at the Rate of three Pounds ten Shillings per Centum per Annum ; ' and alfo the Intereft of five hundred thoufatid Pounds, being the Refidue of the faid Sum of t-Ho ' Millions, at the Rate of three Pounds per Centum per jnnum, is by the faid A<5t charged and charge- , ' able upon the Fund commonly called -[he Sinking Fund :' We your Majefty's moft dutiful and loyal Subjeds, the Commons of Great Britain in Parliament affembled, towards making good the laid In- tereft of the faid Sum of two Millions, fo charged on th-j faid Sinking Fund, have refolved to give and grant unto your Majefty the feverai additional Rates, Duties and impofitions, on Cards and Dice herein after-mentioned ; and do moft humbly befeech your Majefty that it may be enaded, and be it enacted by the King's moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spi- ritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame. Pair of Dice, Such refpeclive Duties to be paid by the Makers of fuch Cards and Dice refpeclively. II. And be it further enafted by the Authority aforefaid. That the Duties hereby granted fliall be paid into the Hands of Duties payable the Receiver General for the time being of the Duties on ftampt Vellum, Parchment and Paper, who J? That all Powers, Provifions, Articles, Powers, &c. of Claufes and other Penalties and Forfeitures, Diftribution of Penalties and Forfeitures, and all other ^^^ '^'d^^^ ^u^ Matters and Things prefcribed or appointed in the faid Adts made in the ninth and tenth Years of add1tiona/°Du.^ the Reign of Qiieen Anne, and in the faid A61:s made in the third, fifth and fixth Years of his late t'". Majefty King George the Firft, or in any other Ad or Ads of Parliament relating to the like Duties, and not hereby altered, fhall be of full Force and Efied with relation to the additional Duties hereby charged on Cards and Dice, and ihall be applied and put in Execution for raifing, levying, colleding and fecuring the faid additional Duties hereby charged, according to the true Intent and Meaning of this Ad, as fully to all Intents and Purpofes, as if the lame Powers, Provifions-, Articles, Claufes, Pe- nalties and Forfeitures, and every of them, had feveraliy and refpedively been hereby enaded with relation to the additional Duties hereby charged on Cards and Dice, and as if the Duties hereby charged had been charged by the faid Ad made in the ninth Year of Queen Anne, or by any other Act or Acts of Parliament. V.
