COMING TO CHRIST
- God calling yet! shall I not hear?
Earth's pleasures shall I still hold dear?
Shall life's swift passing years all fly,
And still my soul in slumber lie? - God calling yet! shall I not rise?
Can I his loving voice despise,
And basely his kind care repay?
He calls me still; can I delay? - God call-ing yet! and shall he knock,
And I my heart the closer lock?
He still is waiting to receive,
And shall I dare his Spirit grieve? - God calling yet! I cannot stay;
My heart I yield without despise,
Vain world, farewell! from thee I part;
The voice of God hath reached my heart.
Amen.
- Just as I am, without one plea
But that thy blood was shed for me
And that thou bid'st me come to thee
O Lamb of God, I come, I come. - Just as I am, tho' tossed about
With many a conflict many a doubt,
Fightings and fears within, without,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come. - Just as I am, thou wilt receive,
Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
Because thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come. - Just as I am, thy love unknown
Has broken every barrier down;
Now to be thine, yea, thine alone,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Amen.
